The Danish Medicines Agency expects that nearly half of patients currently taking GLP-1 drugs will switch to cheaper alternatives, but said it will continue to reimburse patients for GLP-1 drugs if they cannot be treated with cheaper similar drugs. The new Danish rule, which will take effect on November 25 this year, affects drugs including Novo Nordisk's Ozempic and Rybelsus, and Lilly's Trulicity. The Drug Administration said these lower-priced drugs of the same kind are recommended as GLP-1 drugs.
